About
How does acupuncture work?
The physical landscape of the body is intricately woven with the emotional landscape of the body. Acupuncture targets physical and emotional aspects of disease through addressing how energy flows in the body.
The insertion of fine acupuncture needles, targets areas where there is dysfunction in order to fine-tune the system and improve function and movement.
Where does acupuncture come from?
Acupuncture is part of Chinese Medicine, an ancient system of healing that dates back to 300 BC and stems from the Huangdi Neijing (The Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic). In ancient China people would pay their local doctor when they were well, and not pay when they were sick.
As a result, Chinese Medicine doctors, via close observation, developed a system of medicine to optimise health and treat disease.
